Attention scouts: get your horse-related badges here.
Kinni Valley Riding Academy has developed programs specifically designed to
help Boy Scouts earn their horsemanship merit badges. Our badge curriculums are
designed to cover all badge requirements, stress safety and are approved by The
Boy Scouts of America.
Kinni Valley conducts scout programs all year, rain or shine. We’re located
just thirty minutes east of the Twin Cities in western Wisconsin. If your troop
is ready to earn its horse-related badges, Kinni Valley Riding Academy is the
place to be.
At Kinni Valley, we create experiences that exceed the requirements for scout
badges. Here, troops are taught by professionally trained instructors (in many
cases, Carolyn, our owner runs the events). In addition, scouts get a full hour
of riding instruction on their own horse through our beautiful trails. If it
rains, your experience is never hindered: we’ll ride in our spacious,
competition-sized riding arena. When you choose Kinni Valley for your scout
event, be assured that you’re getting the best experience for your
investment.
Happy Trails!
Horsemanship at Kinni Valley Academy starts early. We’ve developed an exciting and challenging "hands-on" riding program for Cub Scouts, starting their horse experience while preparing them for their upcoming Horsemanship Merit Badge. Our professional and fun instructors introduce the boys to horse and barn safety, and assist them as they groom and tack a horse. Once they’re ready to ride, we’ll head out on the trail for a riding lesson along the rustic Kinnickinnic River. Yee-Haw!
Price: $38.00 per person, helmets are provided and required.

- Horse breeds, color and uses
- Bits and bridles
- Conformation, soudness and uses

Following the interactive demonstration and discussion, scouts will have a
riding lesson that focuses on fulfilling the riding requirements of their merit
badge.
