Kinni Valley offers an entire riding experience. From very new beginning riders taking their first lesson to advanced riders learning to train their own horses, riders will enjoy our beautiful, well trained horses, knowledgeable staff and incredible location.
Our goal is to provide top quality instruction for all of our students. Whether you come for just one trail lesson, a scouting badge event, or decide to continue riding and training with us for years, you will be captivated by our welcoming atmosphere and our individual attention as we teach you to understand and communicate with horses. We love the sport and want to share it with you.
- Carolyn Lowe Laurel, Owner/Instructor
Hourly lessons are offered throughout the year in our heated indoor facility. Students ages eight through adult are grouped by similar age and ability to assure productive learning (students as young as six years old are able to do private lessons). Instruction at Kinni Valley is geared to achieving each rider's goals in a tailored program.
We emphasize progressive learning, safety and having fun and pride ourselves on giving our riders the personal attention they expect.
Our teaching and training philosophy, developed by Kinni Valley’s primary instructor, Carolyn Lowe Laurel, blends the precision of classical dressage with the simplicity, directness, and lightness of communication that emerges from the French dressage tradition. She also believes that focus on one’s center, giving the rider a confident seat, secure balance, and open dialogue allows for ultimate communication with the horse. These ideals and ways of interacting make the horses and riders at Kinni Valley successful, relaxed, confident, and happy.
