We pride ourselves in offering camps specifically designed to the age and ability of your children. This information will help you with camp registration. First, use the descriptions to help you determine your child's riding level. The next section will describe the curriculum for each camp level. After you determine the correct riding level, the 2013 Schedule will help you plan the weeks that are available for your child.

Camp Curriculums
Beginning Camps
Beginning to ride is such an exciting time. Our belief at Kinni Valley is that it is our job to guarantee that each beginning student is fostered patiently, safely, and progressively, allowing their love of horses to expand in confidence and knowledge. We focus on safety and equitation(horsemanship) skills that allow for comfortable riding, and we introduce students to basics of English and Western riding. Riders will practice their skills at the walk and trot as they set a strong foundation for a lifetime of riding.

Beginning Intermediate Camps
Students continue to build on the information introduced in their beginning lessons and camps. We help riders develop confidence in their skills as horsemen through the fun and excitement of mastering their beginning skills while introducing and developing their next level of skills. Students may choose to ride either English or Western or both, widening their understanding of each style.

Intermediate Camps
The fascination of riding and understanding deepens. Intermediate riders will practice at walk, trot, and canter, gaining confidence in and out of the arena while continuing to work on control, confidence and balance.

Advanced riders learn to develop their feel as they begin to fully understand the mind of a horse. Our emphasis is on training horses and riders. We teach riders to be truly centered, to listen, feel, and respond to their horse in an effective way.

- Develop responsiveness and understanding
- Lateral movements

- Continually improving your skills (execution) and your horses performance
Although most weeks are exclusive to one age and ability group, we do offer "split" weeks. These camps are specially designed to accommodate friends that aren't at the same ability or siblings. During these camps children will be divided during part of the day in specific levels or abilities, maintaining our high quality of focused instruction while allowing the fun of being together at camp. Also a great answer to scheduling and car pooling concerns.
