Kinni Valley Academy is conveniently located just thirty minutes east of the Twin Cities. With winding trails, babbling brooks, and breathtaking scenery, Kinni Valley boasts some of the most beautiful horseback rides in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Through our meadows, you’ll watch blue herons, spot bald eagles, or see an occasional wolf or sand-hill crane. All while enjoying the freedom and joy that accompanies horseback riding.

At Kinni Valley, we offer two types of trail riding experiences to accommodate you:

Hourly Trail Rides

Our hourly horseback rides are anything but typical. At Kinni Valley, we empower our riders with knowledge, taking the time to teach you riding basics (steering, stopping, control, and riding position) while you enjoy the beauty that surrounds you on the trails. But, that’s just the beginning. Kinni Valley specializes in customized, small group riding experiences. This means that you’re only riding with the group you schedule with, receiving a tailored lesson for your group while you ride. At Kinni Valley, our individual attention and knowledge is what makes us different. Here, we make sure your experience is unique, safe, and entertaining.

For safety, trail riders must be at least six years old and not exceed 280 pounds.

Equitation Clinics, Group Events

Is your church, school, or company having a team-building event or outing? Kinni Valley equitation clinics are a great way to build trust, learn a new skill, and just plain have fun. When you join us for an equitation clinic, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute horsemanship demo that covers safety, horse care, and riding. Then, you’ll saddle-up for a trail ride through three miles of gorgeous scenery. Although we’re committed to offering individual attention for families and small groups, we’re able to handle very large groups, up to 20 riders at a time. (If you’re group is larger than 20, we’ll split into smaller groups.)
