Girl Scout Horse Fan Badge & Cub Scouts:

Focusing on safety and confidence students participate in an interactive demonstration as they learn various aspects of the horse and the horse business. (45 minutes)

• Breeds and Uses
• Care and Feeds

Following the demonstration, riders will enjoy learning correct basics of equitation and control of their own horses as they set out on the trail for a riding lesson along our beautiful trails (70x200 foot heated indoor arena available for inclement weather). $35/person approximately 2 hours. Helmets required and provided.

Boy Scout Horsemanship Merit Badge

The next step in equitation, this badge allows students to have “hands on” training as they continue their horse experience. Geared to riders with a general understanding of horses, these clinics will discuss:

• Etiquette and safety
• Basic horse training
• Saddles and Fitting
• Bits and bridles
• Conformation
• Emergency procedures
• Compare English and Western
• Nutrition and care
• Possible horse careers

After the 30 minute discussion, our knowledgeable and informative Instructors will teach and assist the riders as they learn to groom and saddle their own horses for a ride! During their riding lesson, Scouts will focus on perfecting their individual control of their horse and their horsemanship skills. $45/person approximately 2 1/2 hours. Helmets required and provided.
